In the heart of one of Europe’s most important manufacturing districts, VEGA comes to life, an ambitious project created to support footwear manufacturers supplying major fashion brands in their transition to a more digital, transparent, and sustainable production model.
Promoted by a partnership involving technology and manufacturing companies (including Everyn, Maruska, Dr. Wolf, and Robotech), and guided by Sinergest‘s methodological and design vision, VEGA is proposed as a model of innovation that can be replicated throughout the high-end fashion supply chain.
A digital environment for real sustainability
VEGA is an advanced software platform that connects the management, environmental, and social data of a footwear company, providing a comprehensive and navigable overview.
Its strength lies in the intelligent integration of information from multiple sources:
- ERP and MES systems for management and production data;
- IoT sensors and Industry 4.0 systems in plants to detect energy consumption, waste, and production efficiency in real time;
- manual and documentary inputs to cover non-digitized areas;
- LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) data and supplier traceability collected through interoperable platforms such as Dr. Wolf.
Thanks to this integration, VEGA allows you to build ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) indicators in line with the latest European standards (ESRS, CSRD, SDG, ESPR), providing companies with a solid foundation for sustainable reporting and governance.
Co-design and structured approach to requirements gathering
The platform was designed through a collaborative process, involving manufacturing companies in the district from the early stages.
Sinergest led the entire process, which was divided into:
- Mapping of ESG processes in actual footwear factories (Everyn, Maruska);
- workshops with company stakeholders to identify needs and critical issues;
- analysis of relevant regulations (CSRD, SDG, LCA, ESPR);
- study of existing IT architectures to facilitate native integration with ERP, MES, and field sensor systems.
All requirements that emerged were formalized as user stories with acceptance criteria and test scenarios. This ensured traceability, consistency, and continuous validation during development.
Key features of the VEGA platform
1. Multi-level organizational structure
Allows you to configure the company structure (groups, plants, departments, functions), associating ESG objectives, managers, dashboards, and authorizations with each level.
2. Advanced ESG KPI management
Each KPI is managed through a comprehensive dashboard that includes:
- Frequency of detection (e.g., monthly, annually);
- Latest data entered and deviation from target;
- Source of data (sensor, ERP, manual input);
- Attached documents (e.g., certifications, audits);

3. Wizard and KPI
Users can create new KPIs independently via a guided interface, specifying:
- ESG and SDG reference area;
- calculation formula and data source;
- target objective and thresholds;
- frequency and unit of measurement.
4. Data collection and monitoring system
A powerful workflow module allows you to:
- View the updated schedule for each KPI;
- Receive automatic notifications via email or app;
- Manage individual to-do lists;
- Activate corrective action plans based on deviations from targets or ESG survey results.
5. LCA Module and Digital Product Passport
The platform integrates environmental data derived from LCA studies and links it to ESG KPIs.
Thanks to its integration with Dr. Wolf’s Filiera platform, VEGA enables the automatic generation of the Digital Product Passport, as required by the proposed European ESPR Regulation.
The passport, accessible via a QR code on the packaging, includes information on:
- Product composition;
- origin of materials;
- environmental impacts (e.g., CO₂eq);
- eco-design principles.
6. Access control and security
Each operator has personalized access, with detailed logs of actions performed, to support GDPR compliance and internal audit trails.
User-centered design
Thanks to the support of high-fidelity prototypes developed on Miro and tested with real users, the interface was designed to:
- Minimize data entry time;
- facilitate navigation even on tablets and mobile devices;
- offer a consistent experience even in contexts with low digitization;
- make alerts, priorities, and deviations clear.
An infrastructure designed for the future of the fashion industry
The VEGA platform is scalable, designed to adapt to both small craft businesses and structured industrial groups.
Integration with sensors, ERP, and systems already in use makes adoption smooth and sustainable over time.
Thanks to its architecture and modular design, VEGA allows you to:
- Respond effectively to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD);
- prepare in advance for the mandatory adoption of the Digital Product Passport;
- demonstrate transparency and traceability to customers, stakeholders, and leading fashion houses.
