Evaluation and Monitoring of Industrial Processes for Ecosustainability and Environmental Management
Acronym:
VEGA project aims to develop new decision-support tools and digital technologies for the fashion supply chain that enable virtual design, planning, and implementation of more sustainable production cycles, extending also to post-sale repair and end-of-life disassembly.
Among these tools, the primary one is a software platform, interfaced with the company’s management system and IoT networks, capable of processing and measuring sustainability through specific ESG indicators that express corporate performance in terms of Environment, Social, and Governance.
The new “ESG” software platform will also include an environment where the footwear manufacturer’s supply chain will be described, and a certified digital passport will be created using blockchain technology, integrating the results of assessments conducted according to ESG performance criteria.
Recognizing the importance of moving beyond the traditional linear economy model of “take, make, and dispose,” VEGA will develop dedicated tools to support companies in implementing additional services such as eco-friendly design in a virtual environment, post-sale maintenance and repair, and final disassembly of footwear.
